  • Bachelor of Laws, University of São Paulo (USP, 1997). Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Economic Law, Universität zu Köln, Germany, with a dissertation in Parallel Imports in Trademarks and Patents in 2000. Dr. Jur. in Commercial Law, University of São Paulo (USP, 2010), with a thesis in International Transfer of Technology Transactions.

Experience:

  • Since 1996, Karin has practiced in the areas of intellectual property, contracts, commercial law and conflict resolution. She worked for the Deutsch-Brasilianische Industrie- und Handelskammer (German Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and Industry) and Baker & McKenzie in Frankfurt and Düsseldorf, Germany. Due to her studies and work in Germany, she acquired international and multidisciplinar experience in corporate law. She is specialized in intellectual property, information technology and ADRs, and has extensive experience in legal advice to foreign companies of various sizes and industry sectors, particularly German, Austrian, Swiss and American companies. Karin worked 14 years at Trench Rossi e Watanabe Advogados, the last of which as a partner for the intellectual property team. She is also Vertrauensanwältin (Trusted Advisor) of the Wirtschaftskammer Österreich (Austrian Chamber of Commerce) in São Paulo.
