Jed Cain is an accomplished trial lawyer that has obtained multi-million dollar jury verdicts throughout the state of Louisiana.  He has dedicated his career to representing injured workers and their families.

In 2014, Jed was awarded the F. Scott Baldwin Award by the American Association for Justice (AAJ).  AAJ, formerly known as the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA), is the world’s largest trial lawyer bar and supports victims’ rights worldwide.  The F. Scott Baldwin Award is presented each year to the “most outstanding young trial lawyer” in the country.

Jed is a 2015 graduate of the Trial Lawyers College, an invitation only program founded and led by legendary trial lawyer, Gerry Spence, over the course of three weeks.

Originally from the small town of Natchitoches, Louisiana (made famous by the movie “Steel Magnolias”), Jed had the good fortune of being raised by a Methodist minister.   Despite a childhood of weekly church attendance, Jed boasts a stellar record of having only been called down twice by his father from the pulpit.  The scars left by his mother’s pinches in the pew were a small price to pay for such unmatched “preacher’s kid” credentials.

Jed grew up an avid competitive swimmer.  After years of swimming up and down the black lines of chlorinated pools, he followed those black lines to Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas.  After only four years of collegiate swimming, Jed emerged from Arkansas reeking of chlorine but with a degree in hand.

Upon graduating from Hendrix, Jed spent a year teaching 5th grade at an elementary school in Shreveport, Louisiana before attending law school at Tulane University.  He would later come to appreciate that no jury would ever be so daunting as a classroom of twenty-eight 5th graders.

Jed is the founder of Cain’s River, a digital community devoted to preserving the art of small town storytelling.  Each year, Cain’s River sponsors a $2,500 scholarship for the student who demonstrates the most promising small town storytelling skills.   To learn more about how you or a loved one can apply for Cain’s River’s Small Town Storytelling Scholarship, click here:

The Duffel Bag Guide To Offshore Injury Law
Maritime law provides offshore workers with certain protections. It imposes safety responsibilities upon offshore employers and vessel owners. The goal of this book is to provide offshore workers with basic information that they may need to protect themselves following an offshore accident. The book is small. It’s designed to fit easily inside the duffel bag that a worker takes offshore. Like their steel-toed boots or hard-hat, the hope is that this book will provide the worker with some degree of additional protection while working offshore.
