A business-oriented math lover, Foreclosure and Collections Attorney Jeriel Thomas is most in her element when watching Bond films and working on matters involving secure transactions. While action movies, finance, and taxes enthuse her, ensuring clients are fairly rewarded is what motivates Jeriel in her work as she strives for equitable solutions to their legal problems.

Jeriel serves banks as well as property and mortgage lenders, collecting outstanding funds and obtaining judgments on their behalf. In addition to her work in creditors’ rights and real estate, Jeriel has significant experience providing legal advice on business formation and contracts, domestic relations, and estate planning matters.

The marriage of her studies in philosophy and business administration at Clemson University led Jeriel to pursue a law degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her singular drive and ambition to learn about law firm operations from an entrepreneurial perspective brought her back to Clemson to earn her Master’s Degree. With her degree in hand, she established a broad private practice based in Greenville, South Carolina, representing clients in a wide range of legal matters, from forming domestic and international corporations to divorce and custody to drafting wills and trusts.

Meticulous care and timely action characterize Jeriel’s style. Her clients value her prompt communication and thorough treatment of each case. Her method ensures nothing is left up to chance. She begins by ascertaining the interests of all parties in order to discover resolutions as amicably as possible and avoid heavy contestation. Next, she immerses herself in the problem at hand, never glazing over any aspect, but determining how each piece of a case relates to the whole. Throughout every stage of the legal process, Jeriel diligently follows up with clients, keeping them up-to-date on the state of their case.

Jeriel makes involvement in her local community a priority and aims to have a positive influence through volunteering and mentoring. She is currently a member of the Financial Stability Committee of United Way, the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division, and the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association.

Jeriel never tires of finding new ways to come to resolutions—solving the equation, unraveling the problem, pushing the limits. A proactive learner, she rejects complacency and seeks out new challenges, always asking what’s next. This attitude follows Jeriel in whatever she does, whether through hitting the gym as a health and fitness enthusiast, stretching her “math brain” as a philosophy major, or solving clients’ legal challenges as their trusted attorney.
