Ellen Savino is Counsel to Lewis Johs, practicing real estate and banking law. She represents major institutional lenders, credit unions and real estate developers. Ellen has extensive experience handling all aspects of real property law, including institutional financing, real estate development, sale, acquisition and leasing transactions; as well as real estate related litigation. She also serves as counsel to Senator Carl Marcellino of the 5th Senate District.
In 2003 and 2008, Ellen was named one of the Top 50 Most Influential Women on Long Island by Long Island Business News. She also had the distinction of receiving the Class of 2002 Business Recognition and Leadership Award from the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Ellen is active in a wide range of professional and community activities. She is a trustee and past President of the Glen Cove Library Board. She sits on the Advisory Board of Chicago/Ticor Title Insurance Company. Ellen is also a member of Women Economic Developers of Long Island (WEDLI), where she served as a board member for four years.
Ellen is involved with her alma mater, Hofstra University, where she served as an affiliate instructor, teaching real property law for the Paralegal Studies Certificate Program.
Ellen received a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Hofstra University in 1985. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Psi Chi. She graduated from Hofstra Law School in 1988 and was admitted to the New York State Bar, Second Judicial Department, in 1989. In 1994, she was admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
