Chris Huber is an associate in the Columbia office, practicing in the areas of trucking defense, insurance coverage, and professional liability. In his trucking defense practice, Chris represents motor carriers, owner-operators, shippers, brokers, and insurers in litigation and investigations statewide arising from commercial vehicle accidents. He also assists parties in cargo damage disputes, including defending claims against freight brokers’ surety bonds. In his professional liability practice, Chris defends a variety of professionals in litigation, including healthcare providers, physicians, pharmacists, mental healthcare professionals, addiction treatment professionals, attorneys, and insurance claims administrators. His professional liability and trucking defense work includes defending individuals and businesses against claims of catastrophic injury and wrongful death. In his insurance practice, Chris provides clients coverage advice and represents American and international insurance companies in coverage disputes.

Prior to joining Collins & Lacy, Chris gained experience in a wide variety of complex civil litigation while clerking for the Honorable Terry L. Wooten, United States District Judge. He also clerked for the Honorable David R. Duncan, Chief United States Bankruptcy Judge, garnering experience in the liquidation and reorganization processes under Chapters 7, 9, 11, 12, and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code. Chris received his undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, in history from Newberry College and his masters in history from Clemson University. He earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
