Winston Sheehan was born and reared in Montgomery, Alabama, and he attended public high school in Montgomery. He received a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree, cum laude, in 1969 from the University of the South at Sewanee, Tennessee, and earned his J.D. from The University of Alabama School of Law in 1972. Upon graduation he was recognized as a Distinguished Military Graduate, and joined the U.S. Army’s Judge Advocate General Corps, where he served as Trial Counsel and Chief of Military Justice for the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, United States Army Quartermaster Center in Fort Lee, Virginia until 1976. Mr. Sheehan returned to Montgomery, Alabama, and served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Alabama in 1977. He is a partner in the law firm of Ball, Ball, Matthews & Novak, P.A., where he is primarily involved in the defense of complex civil litigation, including trucking accidents, governmental liability, and construction claims. Mr. Sheehan taught at Jones Law School at Huntingdon College in Montgomery and has lectured at various Continuing Legal Education Seminars. He is a member of the Trucking Industry Defense Association, Federal Bar Association, Alabama Defense Lawyers Association, and Defense Research Institute. He practices in state and federal courts, as well as the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

He serves on many community boards and charitable organizations, and was the Chairman of the North Central District of the Tuckabatchee Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. He has been awarded the Silver Beaver from the Boy Scouts of America, and he is a 32nd Degree Mason. He has also served as Junior and Senior Warden for the vestry at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension.

Mr. Sheehan has tried numerous jury trials to conclusion, and currently defends trucking accidents, governmental liability lawsuits, and construction claims throughout the state of Alabama.
