Ms. Dozadiaz originally joined Ferris & Britton in 2004, after a brief stint at a local tax controversy firm. Focusing primarily on corporate law and estate planning, she left the firm in 2011 to pursue a solo practice. Prior to rejoining the transactional department of the firm in 2016, Besse worked as in-house counsel at a national health care management company and at Cubic Corporation, a San Diego based global technology company.
A fourth-generation Gaucho and Santa Barbara native, Besse obtained her undergraduate degree at University of California at Santa Barbara, graduating with High Honors. She received her J.D., summa cum laude, from California Western School of Law in San Diego in 2002, where she served as Executive Editor of the California Western Law Review and as an officer of the Public Interest Law Foundation. Besse also holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from New York University School of Law, the nation’s premier tax program.
Besse returns to Ferris & Britton’s transactional team, where her practice focuses on general corporate law, contract negotiation, tax-driven business and real estate transactions, as well as tax and estate planning. Besse is a current Board member and former President of EWI of San Diego (Executive Women International), which supports scholarships and community literacy programs. Besse and her husband live in San Diego and enjoy salsa dancing and boating.
