Primerus Young Lawyers Give Back

On top of new connections and excellent programming, the Primerus Young Lawyers have a chance to participate in something special for the second year running to positively influence less fortunate elementary school age children.

Primerus will be partnering with Wish for Wheels to build bicycles for 35 second grade elementary students at University Preparatory School in Denver. Wish for Wheels is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that gives brand new bicycles and helmets to kids in low income communities. Primerus young lawyers will go to the school and work together with the second graders to build the bikes. Then each second grader will get to take one of the newly assembled bikes home at the end of the day!

Help us further Wish for Wheel's mission, through the gift of a new bicycle, to transform the lives of kids from low-income families, broadening their scope for personal growth and a healthy lifestyle.

Please come share in this amazing experience with us!

Michael Mihm's unique trial practice focuses on plaintiff-side legal malpractice, commercial, and personal injury litigation. He is admitted to practice in California and Colorado, but represents clients in courtrooms nationwide. Michael has obtained some of the largest plaintiff legal malpractice jury verdicts and settlements in the United States, and many multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements in commercial and personal injury litigation. Michael is a co-founder of Ogborn Mihm, LLP, and practices from both the Denver and Los Angeles offices. He is one of the few plaintiffs' attorneys in the United States to be certified as a specialist in legal malpractice law by The State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization.

Litigation can be brutal. Too often, individuals and businesses suffer needlessly because lawyers insist on doing things "the same old way." Not with us. Not with Mike Ogborn of Ogborn Mihm LLP. Mike's trademark is his relentless pursuit of new and better answers. His hallmark is the recognition that better answers come only with understanding. Not just surface familiarity, but a true appreciation of your world. Mike takes the time to listen, to answer questions, and to ask questions. He doesn't just ask "where do you want to go?" He gets you there. As a young lawyer, Mike honed his courtroom presence as a deputy district attorney working for former Colorado Governor Bill Ritter, then the Denver District Attorney. Now, as a civil trial lawyer, Mike focuses his practice on business litigation, personal injury and construction defect litigation. Mike brings his leadership and presence to obtain significant verdicts and settlements for his clients.

Ed Timmins of Timmins LLC has a broad litigation practice and has successfully tried numerous jury and bench trials in federal and state courts, and has practiced in Federal and State Courts of Appeals, and before arbitration tribunals. He also has extensive experience in all aspects of commercial transactions, including purchase and sale agreements, real estate, leasing, construction, employment, insurance, partnership and corporate agreements, secured lending and contracts.

Judge Bob McGahey has been a Denver District Court Judge since January, 2000. He was appointed by Gov. Owens and currently presides in Courtroom 1, handling civil cases. Before his appointment, he was a practicing trial lawyer for more than 25 years, during which time he tried more than 100 jury trials. His practice focused on insurance defense litigation, coverage disputes and worker's compensation.

Judge McGahey is a graduate of Princeton University and the University of Denver College of Law. He is a member of the American, Colorado and Denver Bar Associations. He has served numerous times as an instructor for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy at the Rocky Mountain and Southern Deposition Programs, the Rocky Mountain Regional Trial Program, the Rocky Mountain Children's Advocacy Program and the U.S. Tax Court Program. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Denver College of Law, teaching Trial Tactics and has also taught at C.U. Law School.
