YLS Membership Update – August 2011

The membership for the Young Lawyers Section (YLS) continues to grow at a rapid rate.   By current count, we have over 100 YLS members.  With upcoming events and projects, it is expected that this number of YLS members will continue to vigorously grow and expand.

One event that we believe will help fuel growth for the YLS is our upcoming deposition workship. This is an event that our members are very excited about. Presently, we are looking to have this event take place on January 18-20, 2012 at the Shore Club in Miami, Florida. At this workshop, numerous respected veteran Primerus attorneys, from a variety of practice areas, will teach YLS members the basics of taking an effective deposition. For most young practitioners, this will be the chance of a lifetime to gain the knowledge, skill and experience that it has taken these veteran Primerus attorneys decades to master.  And we firmly believe that the networking opportunities, chance to learn from other attorneys from across the vast array of areas covered by Primerus and fellowship opportunities will continue to draw more and more young attorneys into the YLS fold.

Additionally, the YLS will begin working on community service efforts. The YLS is a group that believes that attorneys owe a duty to their communities to give back, and we plan on coming together to assist the neediest in our communities.

Therefore, we look forward to continued growth, fueled by shared professional opportunities, for the YLS in 2012!

If you are an eligible Primerus member (this group is restricted to those Primerus members who are forty years of age or younger, or who have been practicing law for less than seven years), then I encourage you to improve your career and professional skills by joining the YLS.
