The firm concentrates its practice in civil litigation, including insurance and self-insured litigation, business and commercial disputes, contracts, general and auto liability, defense of bad faith claims, claims security/fraud, insurance coverage, professional liability, environmental and hazardous waste litigation, products liability, toxic torts, alternative dispute resolution (“ADR”), and appellate litigation.

Zizik Powers has two main offices (in Westwood, MA; and Providence, RI ) and two satellite offices (in downtown Boston, MA; and Barnstable, MA ). Our satellite offices are used to accommodate document production, trial preparation, client meetings and other litigation functions, and more generally to support the firm’s trial practice, which covers all of Rhode Island and Massachusetts .

Since our Massachusetts and Rhode Island offices are less than 50 miles apart, the firm has been able to build a practice that services its clients fully in both states. The firm often handles cases, for example, in which witnesses and parties reside in both states (or for that matter anywhere in Southeastern New England).

Zizik Powers is not a “Massachusetts firm” with a satellite office in Providence, or a “Rhode Island firm” with a satellite office in Boston. Instead, the firm has built a true “two-state” practice, with lawyers in both states who have a native understanding about the culture and practices in both places. It has not been unusual for institutional clients that originally retained the firm in one state, to then retain us on matters in the other state, as well.
