Keynote Speaker, Bob Weiss (Alyn-Weiss & Associates; Lakewood, CO) who has over 20 years of experience assisting lawyers with marketing strategies and personal business development, will be speaking on topics concerning two areas of marketing:

5 New Studies: Surprising Data Affecting Rates, Profitability, Firm Marketing, and What You Should do in Response

  • Landmark studies over the past 24 months by the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on the Delivery of Legal Services, the Legal Sales and Service Organization, CT TyMetrix, Stanford University, the publishers of The American Lawyer and others have finally confirmed with data some long-held beliefs about how the general public, business owners, C-level executives and in-house counsel find and vet lawyers. However, the studies also reveal recent dramatic shifts in retention patterns and shatter several commonly-held beliefs about individual lawyer business development and overall firm marketing activities.

Best Practices: Primerus’ Exclusive Marketing Boot Camp For Member Firms

  • Having an effective, written, measurable, budgeted strategic marketing plan is something every law firm wants.  However, surveys reveal only about 25% of firms ever convene their partners to actually create such a marketing plan.  Those same studies also reveal that firms with marketing plans report greater satisfaction and less controversy over marketing results and expenditures.  This is true for defense, corporate, transactional and plaintiff practices.
  • Recognizing this, Primerus has teamed up with one of the country’s leading marketing consultancies and developed a unique, cost-effective marketing process for member firms.  Compared to engaging local or national marketing consultants directly, participating Primerus firms will save thousands of dollars.
  • The process includes a full evaluation of your firm’s current marketing efforts and expenditures, including online strategy and tactics, a comparison of them to the tactical mix seen in local competitors, and identification of the best marketing practices seen at firms similar to yours nationally.   As well, your firm will be given names and costs for vendors, local and vetted where possible and appropriate, so your firm can improve its business development and have the option of keeping most of your marketing spend in your hometown.
  • How your firm can participate in this program, available exclusively to Primerus members, will be explained in a 60-minute presentation.  Firms that elect to participate in this program, for which there will be only a limited number of openings, will receive ongoing support to help ensure recommendations and options provided can be implemented on time and within budget.

Bob’s presentations are sure to provide you with a new perspective with some of your long-held strategy, tactics, and budgeting.

Win More Work From Current Clients: The RAINBOW Strategy

  • It costs up to ten times more to win work from a new client than from a current client. Therefore, it is important to treat every client of yours as if it is your first day of working for them,  to ensure that they keep giving you work and to keep the competition at bay.  Every day you are not looking after your client, your competition will be trying to win them over.  Pippa Blakemore’s RAINBOW strategy provides a structured way of helping you to ensure that you continue to win more work from current clients.  Pippa will advise you on how to turn your contacts into clients; will give you tips on the four things which you need to do for your clients; will help you to ensure clients read your advice; tell you the one key question which will help you to strengthen and deepen your relationship and give tips on how to maintain effective communication, even when your clients are not giving you work. Your commitment and enthusiasm for their work needs to be maintained at this high standard throughout your relationship and implementing the RAINBOW strategy will help you to do this.
