Grogan Graffam, P.C. is pleased to announce that shareholders Vincent J. Grogan, Dennis A. Watson and Bethann R. Lloyd were selected nationally by their peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® 2014. Mr. Grogan was also selected the Best Lawyers® 2014 Pittsburgh Land Use and Zoning Litigation “Lawyer of the Year.”
Mr. Grogan has been recognized in Best Lawyers for 30 years and is one of the founding shareholders of the firm. He has been a trial attorney for over 50 years and is widely known and respected in commercial litigation matters, real estate law and professional liability defense. He served as President of the Pennsylvania Bar Association in 1997 and as President of the Allegheny County Bar Association in 1989. Mr. Grogan is a member of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County and the Pennsylvania Joint State Government Commission’s Advisory Committee on Real Property Law. He is a Past Chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Trust and a Past Chair and member of the PBA’s Professional Liability Committee. Mr. Grogan received his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1960.
Mr. Watson has been President of Grogan Graffam since 1998 and a shareholder in the Litigation Practice Group since 1983. With more than 35 years of trial experience, he concentrates his practice in complex commercial, construction, maritime, insurance and personal injury litigation. Mr. Watson is a member of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County. He is also a Commissioner of the Independent Regulatory Review Commission. Mr. Watson serves as Chairman of the Zoning Board of the Borough of West View and chairs the Municipal Authority of the Borough of West View. He received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1977.
Ms. Lloyd is a shareholder in the Litigation Practice Group and a member of the firm’s Board of Directors. She concentrates her practice in the areas of professional liability defense, including defense of legal malpractice cases, and insurance defense. Ms. Lloyd is an appointed member of the Pennsylvania Civil Procedural Rules Committee and serves on the Board of Governors of the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County. She is also an active member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Professional Liability Committee, and in that capacity, she lectures frequently on risk avoidance and ethics for lawyers. Ms. Lloyd received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1994.
