Don Downing, an attorney with the St. Louis plaintiff law firm Gray, Ritter & Graham, has been honored with the Citation of Merit from the University of Missouri School of Law.

The Citation of Merit is the highest award bestowed by the School of Law. Recipients are chosen for their contributions to the School of Law, to the legal profession, and to their communities.

Downing, who earlier this year led a negotiation that resulted in a global settlement of $750 million on behalf of U.S. rice farmers whose seeds were contaminated by Bayer Cropscience’s genetically modified strain of rice, received the award at the School of Law’s annual “Law Day” in Columbia, MO.
