The Bennett Law Firm is pleased to announce the addition of its newest attorney, Ashley Arra, who recently joined the Portland, Maine office as an associate.  Ashley will handle a variety of labor and employment law matters, including defense of discrimination claims, and will provide advice on matters of best employment practices.

Ashley graduated from Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts, Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 2010, earning a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Legal Studies.  Thereafter, she attended the University of Maine School of Law, where she earned her J.D. in 2013.  Following her first year of law school, Ashley was selected for a Bernstein District Court Fellowship and served as a law clerk to the Honorable Keith A. Powers.  During the remainder of her law school career, she served as a member of the Women’s Law Association, as a Case Note and Comment Editor for the Maine Law Review, and as a Legal Writing Instructor for first-year students.  She is admitted to the bar in Maine and is a member of the Maine State Bar Association.  Ashley previously was employed as an associate at a Portland firm, specializing in defense litigation.

Regarding the addition of Ashley Arra to the firm, both of the firm’s principals expressed that they were extremely pleased.  Rick Finberg stated, “Ashley’s experience managing complex litigation matters will dovetail nicely with the full range of labor relations and employment law issues she will handle.”  Peter Bennett added, “her strong writing and analytical skills honed by being on Law Review will serve her well as she advises our clients.”
