Raleigh-based law firm Smith Debnam today announced that family law attorney Alicia Jurney and real estate attorney Lauren V. Reeves have been named Partners at the firm.

“Alicia and Lauren have each worked diligently within their profession and in the community to make a difference, and in so doing have made great contributions to our firm’s excellent reputation,” said Jerry T. Jurney, a North Carolina Board-certified Family Law Specialist, joined Smith Debnam in 2007 after completing Smith Debnam’s Summer Associate Program in the summer of 2006. Jurney represents clients in child custody, child support, domestic violence, equitable distribution, and alimony matters. She has served as a liaison member of the Dispute Resolution Section of the North Carolina Bar Association and was recently appointed to full membership on the Council for that section effective July 1, 2016. Jurney serves on the Board of Directors for Haven House Services and Marden’s Ark, in addition to volunteering her time at the National Guard Joint Force Headquarters in Raleigh where she provides pro bono assistance to National Guard veterans. Jurney graduated from Campbell Law with honors and received the CLS Alan & Mary Button Service and Fred O. Dennis Awards. She is listed as a North Carolina Super Lawyers® Rising Star and is named in the 22nd Edition of The Best Lawyers in America©, an established benchmark of legal excellence.

Reeves joined Smith Debnam in 2010 and concentrates her real estate practice in matters involving purchasing, leasing, selling, financing and title issues. Reeves represents individuals and businesses in both residential and commercial real estate transactions. She is a member of the American Land Title Association (ALTA), National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) Commercial Real Estate Development Association. Reeves graduated with honors from North Carolina State University and received her Juris Doctor from Elon University School of Law. She is an active member of the Wake County and 10th Judicial Bar Associations and serves as Editor of the Wake County Bar Flyer.
