Alice PaylorRosen Hagood partner, Alice Paylor, received the Jean Galloway Bissell Award from the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association (SCWLA) at a reception held on March 17, 2016, in Columbia, South Carolina.

The award, as established by SCWLA, is given in memory of Judge Bissell and recognizes the recipient’s distinguished and noteworthy service to the public and the legal profession; achievement of professional excellence; and participation in activities that have paved the way to success for women lawyers on the national, state, or local level.

Paylor has a long history of service within the South Carolina Bar (SC Bar) and other legal organizations.  She served as the 2013-2014 President of the SC Bar.  In 2014, Paylor was appointed to the American Bar Association Commission on Women in the Profession and was elected to the Executive Council of the National Conference of Bar Presidents. Paylor is a permanent member of the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference.  She holds an AV-Rating by Martindale-Hubbell ®, and has been recognized by both Super Lawyers® and Best Lawyers®.

Paylor’s practice focuses primarily on complex commercial litigation, employment litigation, planning and zoning litigation, and school law. She enjoys mentoring young women and encouraging them to become involved in the legal profession.
