Weldon R. Johnson, David G. Wolff, Alan J. Reyner, Kay Gaffney Crowe and Curtis W. Dowling recognized at reception on October 29, 2014, at the Blue Marlin

Barnes Alford is pleased to announce attorneys Weldon R. Johnson, David G. Wolff, Alan J. Reyner, Kay Gaffney Crowe and Curtis W. Dowling have been selected by Greater Columbia Business Monthly as Midlands Legal Elites.    The magazine selected the top Columbia-area attorneys in 20 practice areas. The selections were published in the magazine’s October 2014 issue (also its 25th anniversary issue). The honorees were recognized at a reception on October 29, 2014, at the Blue Marlin.

Weldon R. Johnson is the firm’s senior partner, with over thirty-five years of experience. A 1966 graduate of Wofford College, Mr. Johnson received his law degree from the University of South Carolina in 1969. He was a special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation for several years before returning to South Carolina to practice law, joining with James W. Alford to form Alford & Johnson. In 1983, Alford, Johnson & Salane merged with Barnes, Stork, Wolff & Reyner to form Barnes, Alford, Stork & Johnson, LLP.

David G. Wolff graduated cum laude from Ohio University in 1971 with a B.A. degree in Government. He received his law degree from the University of South Carolina in 1975. His practice areas include real estate, banking and corporate matters.

Alan J. Reyner is a partner of Barnes Alford Stork & Johnson, LLP. He received his B.A. degree from The Citadel in 1972 and his law degree from the University of South Carolina in 1976. He received an L.L.M. in Taxation from New York University in 1977.

Kay Gaffney Crowe graduated from the University of California in 1972 and from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1975. While in law school, she was elected to the Order of the Wig and Robe and received American Jurisprudence Awards in Torts, Close Corporations, and Estate Planning. She is admitted to practice in South Carolina and before the United States District Court, District of South Carolina and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Curtis W. Dowling handles appellate proceedings before the South Carolina Supreme Court and South Carolina Court of Appeals. A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Curtis received both his undergraduate degree (1980) and law degree (1985) from the University of South Carolina. He is a member of the Richland County and South Carolina Bar Associations, as well as the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association.
