Nemia, Esq., who is Of Counsel to Coughlin & Gerhart, L.L.P., received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the New York State Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Law Section. The award was presented on Friday, January 25, 2013 in New York City before hundreds of management and union attorneys at the State Bar Association’s Annual Meeting in NYC.
Mr. Nemia was recognized for organizing the State Bar Association’s Labor & Employment Law Section, which now numbers over 2500 management and union attorneys, and for serving as the Section’s first Chairperson. He was named Chair Emeritus of the Labor & Employment Section. Mr. Nemia has over 50 years of experience in labor and employment law and litigation. He is an appointed member of the committee on the Development of the Law under the National Labor Relations Act of the American Bar Association's Section on Labor and Employment Law. Since 1987, he has been named in all editions of The Best Lawyers in America. He is an Associate Professor Emeritus of Law at Binghamton University, where he taught for over 30 years.
