Dunlap Codding is pleased to announce that Douglas J. Sorocco has been named to the Business Committee for the Arts (BCA) Executive Board. The BCA Executive Board is comprised of business leaders and senior executives from corporations and publications around the country who provide leadership and expertise on key initiatives including messaging, advocacy, and strategic alliances within the private-sector community. The BCA Executive Board is an arm of Americans for the Arts. That parent organization serves, advances, and leads the network of organizations and individuals who cultivate, promote, sustain, and support the arts in America. Founded in 1960, Americans for the Arts is the nation's leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts and arts education.

Sorocco commented on his appointment:  “Beyond its ability to move the soul and bridge divides, the arts provide an environment in which creativity and innovation excel—an environment desired by many companies but rarely found in those who do not support the arts. I’m absolutely thrilled and honored to join the BCA Executive Board and advocate for the overwhelming business case that exists for supporting the arts."

In 2016, Dunlap Codding was one of 10 organizations in the United States honored as a BCA 10: Best Businesses Partnering with the Arts. Honorees were selected for their exceptional ability to engage and serve the arts. Other honorees in 2016 were:  Austin Energy, Badger Meter, CopperPoint Insurance Companies, Dealer.com, Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, Johnson & Johnson, M Powered Strategies, Inc., Northern Trust, and Procter & Gamble.

Sorocco practices in all areas of intellectual property law including patent, trademark, copyright, technology, and e-commerce and assists clients with intellectual property matters requiring litigation, licensing, technology counseling and complex transactions. He is currently an adjunct faculty member at the Oklahoma City University School of Law and serves on the Board of Directors of the following organizations: Oklahoma City's Film Row District, Creative Oklahoma, Canterbury Voices (Chairman), Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition, and Oklahoma City Girls Art School (Chairman).
