Pittsburgh, PA (April 25, 2017) – The law firm Rothman Gordon was retained by Boilermakers Local Lodge No. 154 soon after the forced retirement of Raymond Ventrone as Business Manager and during the FBI, U.S. Department of Labor, and Internal Revenue Service investigations of Mr. Ventrone. Counsel advised the Local not to make any statements to the public or its members until the conclusion of the investigation, so as not to interfere with them.

In cooperation with law enforcement, and through other legal means, Local Lodge No. 154 has been making every effort to recover as much of the property as possible that was allegedly misappropriated by Mr. Ventrone.

Ernest B. Orsatti, a Rothman Gordon Partner who has represented labor unions for 43 years said, “The vast majority of union officials are among the most honorable people I have ever known. When they betray the trust bestowed upon them by their members, they deserve to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. It is tragic when something like this casts such a shadow on the great works of members of the labor movement.”
