- Yee Mei graduated from University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Laws.
- She was first admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2002 and to the Supreme Court of Tasmania in 2003.
- In 2004, Yee Mei was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and became a registered immigration agent in 2006.
