William F. James, Esq.
William F. James has had a distinguished career as a defense lawyer in trial and appellate law for over 40 years. Bill is dividing his time between serving as “of counsel” to the firm and applying his considerable knowledge and experience as a mediator for USA&M, the nationally known arbitration and mediation firm.
Bill is widely regarded as one of the St. Louis areas’ senior defense attorneys. As a young defense attorney, he was recognized for his “noteworthy professional competence as a trial lawyer,” in 1969 receiving the Lon O. Hocker Memorial Trial Lawyer Award presented by The Missouri Bar Foundation. In 2009, he was named a Super Lawyer in Missouri and Kansas. Bill took honors in the area of Civil Litigation Defense, with other areas of practice in Insurance Coverage and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Only 5% of the attorneys identified by the selection committee earned by distinction. This second consecutive year Bill has received this recognition.
Bill’s work for the firm now involves insurance defense practice in the areas of auto and premises liability.
