- EMPLOYMENT – Counsels employers in the healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing and service industries in all areas of employment and labor law compliance and policy development matters. Represents employers in discrimination, wage and hour, wrongful discharge, non-compete and trade secret matters before federal and state courts and agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, the National Labor Relations Board, and the Wage & Hour Division of the U.S. Department of Labor.
- BUSINESS AND CORPORATE – Represents small to mid-size businesses in business formation, business purchase and sale transactions, financing, contract review and development, corporate compliance, general business issues, and real estate transactions (purchase, sale, leasing, and zoning). Mr. Owens also represents not-for profit organizations on formation issues (including obtaining tax exempt status with the IRS), board governance and general business issues.
