Notable Experience
Shawn has over twenty years of trial work representing a broad spectrum of clients from Fortune 500 companies to individuals. He has defended companies related to matters of individual injury claims, product liability, consumer fraud, as well as commercial contract and construction disputes. He defends individuals in auto, premise liability and other personal injury claims.
His experience in construction law includes defending architects and engineers in design claims. In addition to handling multi-million dollar construction and delay claims, Shawn has also represented individual homeowners in construction defect cases.
Shawn has a significant practice dedicated to insurance coverage and bad faith disputes, and he handles hundreds of declaratory judgment matters concerning auto, home, commercial and professional liability coverage actions. His work in this area includes cutting edge issues involving coverage for intellectual property claims, multistate coverage issues and the insurer’s duty to defend.

Shawn enjoys spending time with his wife and son. He has been an active leader in scouting and he is a member of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Ohio Valley Chapter. A former All-American swimmer at Auburn University, Shawn volunteers as an assistant coach for a local high school swimming team during the season.
Shawn regularly authors articles for the firm’s insurance newsletter, educating clients on topics important to their businesses.
