Sharon T. Jacobson, Esq.
Throughout her legal career, Sharon has specialized in corporate law, particularly in the areas of asset-based lending, mergers and acquisitions, private offerings (including franchise offerings), investment adviser compliance and sale and financing transactions. Admitted to the bar in 1976, Sharon began her legal career as a litigation associate and then moved on to AT&T where she held a variety of legal and corporate regulatory positions , including vice president and chief counsel of AT&T Credit Corporation, a financing company. When AT&T spun-off Lucent Technologies, Sharon served first as senior counsel, then managing corporate counsel to the Consumer Products division, a manufacturer and world-wide distributor of wired and wireless telephone products and the owner of the Phone Center stores. Sharon was assigned to Lucent’s joint venture with Philips Consumer Products, where she was assistant general counsel, handling the company’s global advertising and manufacturing programs as well as international distribution, licensing and other transactions. Returning to private practice, Sharon engaged in a securities and transaction practice for public and private companies.
Sharon received her J.D. from DePaul University, where she was a member of the law review and its editorial board, and from Vassar College with a B.A. cum laude. Sharon co-authored for the American Bar Association “A Primer on the Use of Tape Recorded Evidence,” up-dated most recently in The Litigation Manual 3d, 1999. Sharon was an assistant professor of business law at Hunter College and has lectured on Sarbanes-Oxley and other securities and corporate matters. She currently serves as trustee to the Colonial Symphony of Morristown.
