Shaghig D. Agopian, Esq.

Shaghig D. Agopian is a senior associate who focuses on defense of product liability claims. She also has experience in the areas of premises liability, employment law, environmental law, general tort claims and commercial litigation matters.

Ms. Agopian earned her B.A. in Cell and Molecular Biology from Occidental College in Los Angeles California in 2000, and her J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, California in 2003.

While at Southwestern, Ms. Agopian earned the CALI Award for Excellent Achievement in Constitutional Law, Remedies and Comparative Law. She was also a recipient of the Frank J. Waters, Sr. and Ida Waters Scholarship.

Ms. Agopian joined BHP in May of 2007, with two years experience in toxic tort litigation, and she continues to focus on asbestos products liability. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Agopian practiced with Jackson & Wallace, where she defended corporate clients in asbestos, silica and benzene litigation. She also worked on general litigation cases where her practice consisted of personal injury, premises liability and contract disputes.

Ms. Agopian second chaired her first trial in August 2, 2006, in a Los Angeles County breach of contract and fraud trial, in an action alleging Breach of Contract, Intentional Misrepresentation and Negligent Misrepresentation. The jury unanimously decided in favor of the defendant/client.

Ms. Agopian is admitted to practice before all California courts and the United States District Court for the Central District of California. She also is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Armenian Bar Association.
