Scott D. Hofer, Esq.

Scott Hofer is a trial lawyer who has defended multi-million dollar litigation in state and federal courts throughout the Midwest.  Scott is a Principal of the firm.  Prior to practicing law Scott obtained a degree in Architectural Engineering and worked for a large engineering and architecture firm in Chicago.  After law school Scott moved to Kansas City and began his legal career in insurance defense litigation.  Over the last 20 years Scott has developed a successful trial practice, focusing on professional liability, transportation, product liability, and first and third party insurance defense including extra-contractual liability and bad faith.  Scott has successfully handled many cases involving more than $20 million in claimed damages.

Recognition

Scott has earned an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, indicating a peer review testament to the highest level of professional excellence.  Scott is also a member of the International Society of Primerus Law Firms, a worldwide alliance of attorneys independently selected through criteria including integrity, civility, quality of work and reasonableness of fees.  He has earned the Super Lawyers designation in Missouri and Kansas each year from its inception in 2005 through 2012.  The Super Lawyers designation is based on nomination, evaluation of professional achievements, and selection by a panel of attorneys in the applicable practice areas.  Only 5% of lawyers in each state receive that designation.  Scott is a Life Member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum – The Top Trial Lawyers in America, which is comprised only of lawyers who have obtained million and multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements for their clients.  Less than 1% of U.S. lawyers are members.  Scott is also a Member of The American Board of Trial Advocates, a national organization of experienced trial lawyers and judges dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the right to trial by jury provided by the Seventh Amendment to the Constitution.
