Sandy has successfully defended businesses, public and private schools, professionals and other individuals throughout Ohio in cases involving civil rights, education issues, employment issues, and claims of personal injury. She has experience in both state and federal trial courts, as well as appellate courts.
Sandy has also defended claims before the Ohio Civil Rights Commission, the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights and the Ohio Department of Education Office for Exceptional Children.
In courts throughout Ohio, Sandy has tried medical negligence/wrongful death and personal injury cases.
Various trade associations have also invited Sandy to speak on tort issues. Sandy also published an article titled, “What Do You Mean The Release Isn’t Valid? The Importance of Probating Minor Settlements.” which appeared in Columbus Bar Lawyers Quarterly, Winter 2007.
Sandy has been named as an Ohio Super Lawyers Rising Star 2007 and 2009-12, a list jointly prepared by Law & Politics Magazine and Cincinnati Magazine.
In addition to advocating on behalf of her clients, Sandy enjoys serving the legal community as a whole. She has been very involved with the Columbus Bar Association, including serving as a committee chair and on its Board of Governors. She also supports the Ohio State Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the Ohio State Bar Association, as a Class Fellow. The Class Fellows meet regularly to collaborate on a Class project that furthers the Foundation’s mission of promoting public understanding of the law and improvements in the justice system throughout Ohio. Sandy has also been active with the Women Lawyers of Franklin County, including serving as its President.
In her free time, Sandy enjoys spending time with her family, kayaking and traveling.
