Biography:
Mr. Caffrey is a commercial litigator whose practice also includes insurance coverage law, products liability law, and First Amendment laws as it pertains to newspaper publications. He has tried numerous cases in state and federal courts and has argued before the Connecticut Appellate Court and the Ohio Summit County Court of Appeals.

Recent matters handled by Mr. Caffrey include:

• Defense of a claim by a policy holder for insurance benefits against a national provider of professional personal insurance services claiming negligent acquisition and maintenance of the policy. Summary judgment was secured in the U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut, eliminating a potential six figure claim.
• Successful resolution of insurance coverage dispute with a defendant’s carrier that resulted in a seven figure settlement on behalf of the Plaintiff.
• Successful settlement of a claim on behalf of plaintiffs for the specific performance of an action to transfer an ownership interest in real estate, resulting in a favorable six figure settlement on behalf of the plaintiffs shortly before trial.
