Robert A. Galanter, Esq.

Summary:
Robert Galanter became a shareholder in Rothman Gordon in 2000, merging a broad commercial practice that includes mergers and acquisitions, commercial real estate, commercial leasing, and commercial litigation with the Firm. His expansive background makes him ideal counsel to small and mid-sized business owners, not only in dealing with commercial and contract issues, but also with shareholder and partnership disputes and the resultant litigation. Collaborating with other partners in the Firm, Bob has developed services such as asset protection, litigation, and dispute resolution strategies for our clients. He has been interviewed numerous times by The Pittsburgh Business Times and The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and has published articles relating to various aspects of commercial transactions. Within the Firm, Bob was past-chairman of the Litigation Department and is currently a member of the Fee Committee and in charge of Associate Development.
Bob’s broad-based commercial law practice includes experience with subjects as diverse as business formation, including choice of appropriate entity; negotiating and drafting shareholder and partnership agreements; drafting and negotiating international business agreements; software license agreements; and business merger and acquisition agreements. He has also represented clients in purchasing assets in bankruptcy auctions both as Stalking Horse bidders and otherwise.

Bob has extensive experience involving the formation of real estate partnerships and the sale, development, and leasing of commercial real estate, including office buildings, apartment buildings and complexes, and retail shopping centers.

Bob earned his B.A. from the Pennsylvania State University and his J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law.

Bob is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association Civil Litigation Section; the Pennsylvania Bar Association Real Property Section; the Commercial Law League of America. He is AV rated in Martindale Hubbell and included in Madison’s Who’s Who in America.
