Randell H. Norton, Esq.

Mr. Norton has handled hundreds of civil litigation matters at the trial and appellate levels. He joined Thompson O’Donnell, LLP in 1981 after practicing several years with the Washington, D.C., law firm of Macleay, Lynch, Bernhard, Gregg & Attridge. He is experienced in tort litigation, including medical, dental, and legal malpractice, products liability, wrongful death, false arrest, assault, defamation, and motor vehicles. He has been involved in numerous contract and construction litigation matters, including building foundation and environmental discharge cases. He has handled significant insurance coverage disputes, representing the interests of insurers and insureds. He frequently serves as arbitrator, mediator, or case evaluator through the courts and privately.

Mr. Norton was the founder and editor (1986-1999) of the D.C. Defense Lawyers’ Association Newsletter. He has served as an author or editor of Proposed Rules of Evidence for the Superior Court and Analysis of the Rules of Evidence Applied in Superior Court (1984 and 1990 editions); the District of Columbia Practice Manual (1987, 1989, 1995 editions); and the Appellate Practice Manual for the District of Columbia Court of Appeals (1985 edition and 1992 supplement).
