Peter Chodat, Esq.
Peter has worked in private practice – primarily in Family Law – since 1988. Prior to working in private practice he was employed in the Attorney General’s Department as a Registrar of the Local Court and the District Court. These days, Peter practises exclusively in Family Law and is the Partner in Charge of Family Law at Kells.
Peter is a member of the Austlaw Family Lawyers’ Group. Austlaw is an association of 19 independent law firms with offices in Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney, regional Victoria and New South Wales. By being a member, Peter is able to get his client’s the best-possible advice across a wide geographic area. He also has access to a network of very experienced Family Law practioners.
Peter loves sport! In addition to playing grade football for Port Kembla, he has played State Pennants One Squash in Sydney and is a qualified Grade One sprint coach. In fact, Peter coached his son to winning the National 18-years 100-metre sprint title.
Client Care
Peter’s approach to clients is to always explain, in non-legal terms, how the Court process works and what the client can expect as a result if the case proceeds to a hearing. He aims to give his clients accurate and concise legal advice and, through his experience, instil in them a strong sense of confidence. Ultimately, Peter’s objective is to obtain a result the client is happy with for a reasonable fee.
