Michael L. Goldberg was born in Augusta, Georgia and played for the Division I Basketball Team at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia where he graduated with a B.S. in Political Science in 1994. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia in 1997. He is licensed to practice law in Georgia and South Carolina.
Michael has been named as a Rising Star Super Lawyer by Atlanta Magazine from 2007-2011. He is the author of the Library of Georgia Personal Injury Forms and co-author of Understanding Motor Carrier Claims, now in its 3rd edition. He is a frequent speaker at legal seminars and has published several articles for the Georgia Bar Journal, the Verdict magazine and AAJ publications. He has been a faculty member of the Georgia Trial Skills Clinic held annually in Athens, Georgia and the Kessler Eidson Emory Law School Trial Techniques Program in Atlanta, Georgia. He is a member of several legal organizations including the Interstate Trucking Litigation Group, Association of Plaintiff Trucking Lawyers of America, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, the South Carolina Association of Justice, the American Association of Justice, the Atlanta Bar Association, the DeKalb Bar Association, and the Lawyer’s Club of Atlanta, and has served as the President of the North Metro Trial Lawyer’s Association (2006-2008) and President of the Atlanta Bar Association ACYL Division (2009-2010).
Michael represents victims suffering catastrophic personal injuries or wrongful death throughout the Southeast primarily in the area of trucking and commercial vehicle accidents but also handles cases involving vehicular accidents, negligent security, premises liability, medical malpractice, constitutional rights, and products liability. In the last five years, he has been lead counsel for the plaintiff on eight cases with verdicts in excess of a million dollars.
