Maria Judith Marchand-Sanchez, Esq.

Ms. Marchand-Sánchez is a Member of Ferraiuoli and former Chair of its Labor and Employment Department.

Prior to joining Ferraiuoli, Mrs. Marchand-Sánchez was an associate in Porro Vizcarra Law Office from May 1997 to July 2003, with López–Lay, Vizcarra & Porro from May 1996 to June 1997, and with the Law Offices of Andrés Nevares from October 1990 to June 1996.

She has represented insurance companies in general civil defense matters including labor and employment claims.  Ms. Marchand-Sánchez has been a speaker to various employers in Puerto Rico regarding sexual harassment in the workplace and other labor and employment matters. She has also successfully represented clients in administrative proceedings as well as before the local and federal courts Plaintiffs and Defendants in a myriad of cases (contractual matters, personal injury, medical malpractice, discrimination claims, labor harassment, covenants not to compete, wage and hours claims, Fair Labor Standards Act, sexual harassment, unjust termination, among others).  Her practice also includes consulting and counseling in matters related to the management of human resources.

Including labor aspects of corporate acquisitions, merges, commencement of operation, protection of confidential information, record keeping, labor audits, and employee privacy issues, among others. Ms. Marchand-Sánchez has also acquired expertise in matters related to franchise agreements.  She is a collaborator in one of Puerto Rico’s daily circulation newspaper with a column regarding diverse legal themes.

Among her representative clients are: Doctor’s Associates (Subway), Rainbow, Inc. (retail clothing), Groupon Puerto Rico LLC and MMM Holdings, Inc. (health insurance).

Ms. Marchand-Sánchez concentrates her practice in civil litigation, labor and employment counseling and compliance, as well as labor and employment law litigation.
