Experienced since 1973 in all aspects of employment law.  Acted as labour relations adviser on construction of Sullom Voe Oil Terminal and other major projects.  Deals with competition issues arising from human resources matters.  Extensive experience in full range of applications before employment tribunals, including sex and race discrimination.  Regularly appeared before the Employment Appeal Tribunal.  Practice includes High Court employment cases on work – injunctions, damages against directors and restrictive covenants.  Involved this year in a number of bus operating companies in injunction proceedings against unions.  Wide experience of developing and delivering management training for health services and numerous commercial clients, especially in the area of change management.

Considerable and current experience in assisting clients in the examination of their internal processes and issues so as to provide fact reports, legal advice and business recommendations as part of a single package.

Received degree of Master of Laws in European Management and Labour Law in 1995.  Principal clients include bus and truck operators, railways, hospital trusts and other public health bodies.
Memberships: Industrial Law Society.
Joined Ford & Warren in 1974. Became Partner in 1976. Became Managing Partner in 1989. Leeds University LLB 1967-70. Leicester University LLM 1995.
Leisure interests include scuba diving instruction and racing cars.
