John W. Zatkos, Jr., Esq.
As an attorney in the Workers’ Compensation/Social Security Disability Department of Rothman Gordon, John Zatkos works exclusively with workers’ compensation clients, although his background also includes experience in civil litigation, Bankruptcy, and Social Security. While John has represented individuals from many backgrounds, he has built a reputation serving union employees seeking compensation benefits and has extensive experience in class action litigation under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
John authors the quarterly Workers’ Compensation Newsletter and regularly presents on Workers’ Compensation issues to unions and professional organizations such as the Pennsylvania Association for Justice (formerly PaTLA).
His recent presentations have included Sterling Educational Seminars, the PA Department of Labor & Industry and the Center for Education Management. John also taught at CCAC’s Center for Professional Development. John has been recognized as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer Rising Star numerous times, a recognition given to only 2.5 percent of Pennsylvania lawyers. He was listed “A Lawyer on the Fast Track” by ALM in 2007 and has been listed in The Best Lawyers In America since 2008.
John received his B.A. from Rutgers University and his J.D. from Duquesne University. He is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association (Council Member, Workers’ Compensation Section 2004-2005, 2001-20012), the Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association, and the Pennsylvania Association for Justice.
