Partner and head of The Licensing Department. Acts and advises in all aspects of liquor licensing law and other legislation which impacts on the licensed trade, including planning and environmental law. Clients include the largest pub company in the United Kingdom. Advises on and appears on behalf of clients throughout the united Kingdom in applications for new premises licences, variations, reviews, appeals. Acts for clients regarding licensing and related prosecutions. Dealt with the transitional applications in Scotland pursuant to The Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 for the largest pun company in Scotland and continues to represent their estate there. Lectures to trade associations and higher education establishments on licensing law.

University College Galway – Bachelor of Commerce 1983 and LLB 1985. Qualified in Ireland in 1988 and in England in 1991. Joined Ford & Warren in 1994. Became partner in 1999.
