Jeremy J. Beck, Esq.
Jeremy J. Beck joined Ackerson & Yann as an associate attorney in 2007, after earning his J.D. from the University of Louisville’s Brandeis School of Law, cum laude, and being admitted to the Kentucky bar that same year. Jeremy focuses his practice on intellectual property law (copyright and trademark), entertainment and art law, contracts, and general business law. His clients include individuals and business entities active in the music and film industries, publishing, visual arts, and graphic design. Jeremy is also a published composer of classical music, which affords him particular insight into the challenges and legal issues facing those engaged in these and other related creative fields.
Born outside of Cleveland and raised in Illinois, Jeremy has previously been a tenured associate professor of music at California State University-Fullerton and the University of Northern Iowa. In addition to his J.D. from the University of Louisville, Jeremy holds a D.M.A. and M.M.A. from the Yale School of Music (1995, 1992), an M.A. from Duke University (1989), and a B.S. from the Mannes College the New School for Music in New York City (1984), all in music composition.
Jeremy is a member of the American Bar Association, the Kentucky Bar Association, the Louisville Bar Association, the Society of Composers, Inc. and the American Composers Forum. He lives with his wife and son in Louisville.
