Lee Floyd is an associate practicing in insurance coverage, class action litigation, professional negligence and products liability.  He also performs pro-bono work for the office of the South Carolina Attorney General, serving as a special prosecutor in criminal domestic violence prosecutions.  Lee graduated from Wofford College, and he received his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina.  While in law school, he served on the Editorial Board for the South Carolina Law Review and participated in Moot Court.  He also won the Roberts’ Most Outstanding Research Paper Award.  Lee worked as a law clerk for Collins & Lacy prior to joining the firm in 2007.

Practice Focus/Trial Experience

• Insurance Coverage: representing American and international insurance companies in litigation involving coverage disputes, first party claims, commercial liability, errors and omissions and an emphasis on bad faith claims.
• Products Liability: representing regional and national clients in the following industries — pharmaceuticals/medical devices, heavy equipment, buses/automotive, consumer products, building materials, firearms, chemicals, food products and sporting goods.
• Class Action Litigation: assisted with representation in statewide litigation, involving product defect and warranty and federal jurisdiction under the Class Action Fairness Act (CAFA).
• Professional Negligence Claims: representing physicians, architects, engineers, lawyers, insurance agents and other professionals against claims of malpractice and other disputes arising from the practice of their respective fields.
