San Francisco, California Attorney
Hugh C. Cook, Esq.
Hugh Cook graduated from the University of California at Riverside with a bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in political science. He attended the San Francisco School of Law. After law school graduation, he worked in the areas of criminal law, employment, personal injury, and environmental law at the Marin County District Attorney office and for several small Bay Area law firms.
Mr. Cook joined Brayton Purcell as an associate attorney in March, 2000. His legal interests include mesothelioma, tobacco, and a variety of personal injury cases. Over the past 13 years at the firm, Mr. Cook has traveled around the country meeting with families in their homes in order to advise them of their legal rights against the corporations that disregarded the widely accepted scientific and medical literature regarding the hazards of asbestos in order to make profits.
Mr. Cook also supervises our Investigations Department, which conducts client interviews as well as researches the different brands, manufacturers and suppliers of asbestos products and the contractors that used them. This role allows him to quickly ascertain, through use of a comprehensive jobsite database and staff of skilled investigators, how our clients were exposed to asbestos and who is responsible.
A member of the California bar, Mr. Cook is also licensed to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He belongs to Public Justice and the Consumer Attorneys of California. Mr. Cook sits on the board of directors for the Petaluma National Little League. In his spare time enjoys coaching youth sports for the Boys & Girls Club and CYO basketball leagues in Sonoma County and spending time with his family. He is married with three boys.
Mr. Cook has dedicated his career to aggressively litigating cases involving work place injuries on behalf of the men and women who helped build and defend our country.
