Gena Morris is a Fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), the national organization that encourages the study and elevates the standards in the practice of matrimonial law. Ms. Morris is one of only 32 attorneys in the state of North Carolina to have been selected for this honor. The 1600 AAML Fellows across the United States are recognized by judges and attorneys as preeminent family law practitioners with knowledge, skills and integrity beyond reproach.

Gena Morris was honored by Best Lawyers in America with inclusion in its select directory for 2008 & 2011. Ms. Morris was also selected by Law & Politics Magazine as North Carolina “Super Lawyer” for Family Law for the years 2007-2010 as well as being included as one of the Top 50 Women who received the highest point totals in the 2010 North Carolina Super Lawyers nominations.

Ms. Morris has been certified as a Specialist in Family Law by the North Carolina State Bar since 1997. She is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education seminars for family lawyers. She volunteers as a Guardian Ad Litem representing children in contested custody matters.
