Emily Katheklakis has achieved successful outcomes for clients across the whole spectrum of personal injury matters, including complex medical negligence claims, psychological or physical injuries in the workplace, slip and falls, motor accidents, injuries whilst in detention and for people who have suffered from childhood abuse.

Emily joined Carroll & O’Dea Lawyers in 1995. In addition to practising in the area of compensation law, Emily has experience with debt recovery matters and cases involving contravention of the Trade Practices Act, Dust Diseases, Superannuation and Income Protection Policy Disputes.

Emily is an experienced advocate, with extensive negotiation and advocacy skills, representing clients at mediations, settlement conferences, arbitrations and conciliations when it matters.

Emily appears regularly in the courts and tribunals which adjudicate on compensation matters. These include the specialist tribunals commissioned to hear compensation law matters, as well as the Local Court, District Court, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Emily has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws from Australian National University. She is admitted as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court, Federal Court and High Court and is a member of the Australian Lawyers Association (ALA). Emily joined Carroll & O'Dea in November 1995 and became an Associate in July 2000. Emily was admitted to practice in 1995.
