Ellen S. Casey, of counsel to the Santa Fe office of Hinkle Shanor LLP, graduated from the University of New Mexico Law School in 1985. Following graduation, Ms. Casey clerked for Federal Magistrate Judge Lorenzo Garcia, then a judge with the New Mexico Court of Appeals. For some years, her practice has been primarily devoted to employment/civil rights litigation and insurance defense. Ms. Casey routinely defends private employers and public entity clients in civil rights and federal and state employment litigation and successfully defended the State of New Mexico in Fair Labor Standards Act litigation decided in the United States Supreme Court.
