Mr. Hewitt concentrates his practice in the representation of businesses, including health care providers, health insurers and other employers, in commercial and employment litigation. Mr. Hewitt has extensive trial experience in employment, consumer fraud, unfair trade practices, insurance, Uniform Commercial Code and other business disputes. Mr. Hewitt has successfully represented employers in numerous administrative proceedings and governmental investigations involving alleged discrimination or retaliation under the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act and other anti-discrimination statutes. Mr. Hewitt has also successfully argued numerous appeals before the Illinois Supreme and Appellate Courts and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in appeals involving employment discrimination, consumer fraud, insurance and other business controversies.

Professional Associations & Affiliations

Mr. Hewitt has been admitted to the United States District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois, the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh and Second Circuit Courts of Appeal and the Illinois Supreme Court. Mr. Hewitt is a member of the trial bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and is AVĀ® Peer Review rated, the highest possible rating via the Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings. Mr. Hewitt has demonstrated a commitment to pro bono and community service. Mr. Hewitt is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Daughters of Charity Ministeries of Chicago, which administers the Marillac Social Center and the St. Vincent de Paul Center, two of the largest social service providers in the metropolitan Chicago area. Mr. Hewitt also organized and administers a professional mentoring program which has served underprivileged young men in Chicago’s West Side for more than 15 years.
