Douglas L. Lunsford is a partner in the Roswell, New Mexico office of Hinkle Shanor LLP. A native New Mexican, he joined the Firm upon graduation from Duke University Law School in 1975. His practice has been predominately in the oil, gas and natural resources areas. He is currently chairman of the Natural Resources Practice Group of the firm. He has spoken on many occasions at landman's seminars and to professional groups, including New Mexico Landman's Association, AAPL and Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation. Since 1986, he has been chairman of the Public Lands Committee of the New Mexico Oil and Gas Association and a Trustee of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation and in those capacities has dealt with many of the operational and legal problems faced by the oil and gas industry. Mr. Lunsford currently chairs quarterly work group meetings between the oil and gas industry, the Bureau of Land Management and the State of New Mexico Commissioner of Public Lands.
