Dora Rocio Laplacette graduated in 1987 from the University of Buenos Aires School of Law.
She obtained a PhD in Legal Science from the School of Law of the Pontificia Universidad Católica Santa Maria de los Buenos Aires on March 16, 2011. Her PhD thesis received a perfect score with honors and recommended for publication.
In 1995, she attended the seminars and mediation workshops hosted by Fundación Libra and obtained her certificate as a mediator. She started her professional practice running her own law firm in San Isidro, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. 1987-1997
She was Secretary to the Board of Directors of Salvat Foundation, 1998-1999. While working in the public sector, she was Head of the Fishing Regulations Division under the National Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, and a Consultant under the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) working for the Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food Department, National Fishing and Aquaculture Bureau, 2000-2009
She participated, advised and drafted the baseline document – including a diagnosis and proposed legal framework – for the inclusion of the Province of Río Negro in the funding of the Project for the Development of Inland Metropolitan Areas fostered by the Inter-American Development Bank (AR-L1101), in December 2010.
She was Responsible Consultant for Project 1, within the framework of the Cooperation and Technical Support Services Agreement between the Province of Río Negro and OIM (International Migrations Organization), November 2011-May 2012.
She has over 20 years’ experience in public law issues (on both professional and academic levels), and has spent nine years working specifically on fishing regulations and litigation. She has attended congresses, conferences, specialization courses and seminars, both as a participant as well as a speaker.
Her work as a docent began in 1990. She is Assistant Professor in Constitutional Law at the University of Buenos Aires Law School; Assistant Professor in the Legal Regime of Information, for the Bachelor of Journalism – Fundamentals of Law and Introduction to Law, at the Journalism and Advertising Institute, Pontificia Universidad Católica Santa María de los Buenos Aires. She has also taught Constitutional law at the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa.
Currently, she is a partner at BCLC, where her practice includes public law matters, particularly fishing regulations and litigation.
