Don has devoted much of his practice to intellectual property litigation and is a member of AIPLA (The American Intellectual Property Law Association).  He represented the plaintiff in a patent case involving a computerized control system for electric forklifts and helped obtain a multi-million dollar jury verdict.  He also represented a local company in its suit against the excess insurance carrier for its workers’ compensation program, which also resulted in a seven-figure judgment at trial.  He recently has defended a multi-national corporation in a patent suit by a major competitor and also completed a jury trial in federal court in Columbus, where he represented underwriters at Lloyd’s of London.

Don is a 1985 graduate of the University of Toledo (B.A. History) and graduated from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 1988, with honors.  Immediately upon graduation, Don clerked for the Ohio Court of Appeals from 1988-1990.

Don and his wife, Melinda, also an FI&C litigator, reside in Miamisburg, Ohio, with their two children.
