Biography:
Mr. Hoopes is a business litigator whose practice also includes general business law and land use. He has tried numerous cases in state and federal courts and has argued appeals before the Connecticut Supreme and Appellate Courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Massachusetts Appeals Court.

Recent matters handled by Mr. Hoopes include:

• Defense of a complex eight figure claim against a shopping center developer resulting in a zero damage jury verdict.
• Prosecution of a seven figure claim arising from a merger and acquisition transaction between two public companies, resulting in a favorable settlement shortly before trial.
• Representation of a major national financial services institution in a complex Chapter 11 case in which our client was a key member of the committee of unsecured creditors.
• Resolution, on behalf of the owner, of dozens of construction claims arising from the development of a regional shopping mall.
• Representation of many developers and landowners in obtaining governmental land use approvals.
