He has served as general counsel to the North Charleston Sewer District since 1973, to the Berkeley County Water and Sanitation Authority since 1980 and to the Mount Pleasant Waterworks since 1988. He is admitted to practice in the state courts of South Carolina and North Carolina and in the federal courts, including the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the Charleston County Bar Association, the South Carolina Bar and the American Bar Association. Mr. Jennings graduated from Davidson College and received his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Background

David G. Jennings has an active municipal utility practice in the state and federal courts. His practice focuses primarily on local water and sewer utilities. He has served as general counsel to the North Charleston Sewer District since 1973, to the Berkeley County Water and Sanitation Authority since 1980, and to the Mount Pleasant Waterworks since 1988.

Mr. Jennings received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Davidson College in 1968 and graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1971 with High Honors. While at law school, Mr. Jennings was a member of the Society of Wig and Robe, served on the University of South Carolina Law Review, and was a member of the National Moot Court team. He is admitted to practice in the state courts of South Carolina and North Carolina and in the federal courts, including the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Jennings is a member of the Charleston County Bar Association, the South Carolina Bar, and the American Bar Association. In the past, he has served on the Board of Governors of the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association and the Executive Committee of the Charleston County Bar Association.

He serves as chairman, Coastal South Carolina USA. He is treasurer of the Charleston Area Convention & Visitors Bureau and is a member of its Executive Committee and Board of Governors.
