Managing Attorney

Smithy Curry took on the role of managing attorney at Horack Talley in autumn 1999. Under his stewardship Horack Talley strengthened its real estate and litigation groups, expanded into family law, and initiated Charlotte’s first green initiatives group.

In his legal practice, Smithy focuses on significant commercial and residential projects. His clients include large residential homebuilders as well as hotel and restaurant organizations and operators. His management role at Horack Talley and lifelong residence in Charlotte make Smithy’s voice valuable beyond purely legal matters.

Mr. Curry also devotes his time to a variety of boards and committees. His past involvement includes: State Council Chairman of the North Carolina Lions, board member of the Charlotte Philharmonic Orchestra, member of the YMCA Board of Advisors, president of Myers Park Country Club, and council member at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.

Smithy Curry was recently selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® 2011 in the field of Real Estate Law.
